You should try these wine varieties!

Istrian white wines are characterized by their fruity notes and are all relatively dry. There are both local and imported varieties that develop a unique taste due to the Istrian climate. And even though Malvazija is the most famous among them, we recommend that you try some of the lesser known white wines. There are some real insider tips hidden among them!

  • Malvazija
  • Momjaner Muskat
  • Chardonnay
  • Sauvignon Blanc

The red wines of Istria are also tart and fruity in taste and have a beautiful ruby red color. Here, too, there are both local and imported varieties that take advantage of the high iron content in the red soil of the Istrian coast.

  • Moscato Rosa
  • Borgonja
  • Merlot
  • Refosco
  • Cabernet Sauvignon
