Mljet National Park : There is no way around visiting this natural spectacle! The entire western end of the island is designated as a national park and offers many great hiking trails through untouched nature. Dense pine forests nestle along quiet lakes. And in between there are all kinds of wild animals that you can spot with a bit of luck!

Babino Polje : The largest settlement, which stretches along the middle of the island and offers many opportunities to stop off. In addition to many hotels and villas, you will not only find a wonderful view here, but also one of the best pizzerias in Croatia!

Sobra : This small settlement can be found along a natural slope on the north side of the island of Mljet. Houses are lined up next to houses and the view is phenomenal! The restaurants there are also impressive and entice with delicious offerings and a peaceful atmosphere.

Mary’s Island : This small island is located in the middle of the national park on the west side and attracts visitors with an old monastery. One of the most unusual places, but that’s exactly why it’s definitely worth a visit! In general, you will find many churches on the island of Mljet, so take a look around and take lots of photos.

Mljet Island Beaches

Beaches can be found almost everywhere along the island’s coast, so you won’t be left high and dry. The naturally formed coves are perfect for a quiet stay on one of the many pebble beaches.

Plaža Sutmiholjska Beach : One of the most beautiful beaches on the south side of the island. With clear water and breathtaking nature, you can’t go wrong here. Docking boats is also allowed, as is paddling with canoes.

Mala Saplunara Beach : If you are looking for real sand, you will find it in the small settlement of Saplunara. This beach is a real dream for all holidaymakers, it is also family-friendly and always clean. The trees also provide plenty of shade, which makes your stay perfect.

Limuni Beach : Not far from the small town of Saplunara you will find this bay, which is also ideal for swimming and relaxing. Perfect for those who prefer a quieter place and want to escape the hustle and bustle. The natural bay almost seems like a private swimming pool for all visitors who find their way there.

Prožurska Luka Beach : Let’s now go to the north side of the island, where the small settlement of Prožurska Luka is located. This is not only ideal for swimming, but is also perfect for a stay of several days on the island of Mljet. Boat tours are also possible here.

Kozarica Beach : This is the smallest of all the beaches on our list, but that’s exactly why you should definitely stop by when you visit Mljet. Nobody will disturb you here and you can enjoy the silence of nature and the sound of the sea.

Island Mljet Day trips in the area

Although the island of Mljet is located very far south in Croatia, it is still a good starting point for some day trips that you can take. All of these activities require a boat ride, so make sure you check schedules beforehand to get from A to B easily.

Dubrovnik : One of Croatia’s most beautiful cities is located in the far south of Dalmatia and can be reached by boat from the island of Mljet. Explore the old city walls and enjoy a wonderful day in the city.
