Island of Cres Croatia

Besides Krk, the island of Cres is the largest in the Kvarner Bay off Croatia and this alone attracts many interested holidaymakers from all over the world. The nature here is particularly impressive. In the north you can find wonderfully dense forests, while in the south there are rugged mountains that offer a great view of the Adriatic. If you prefer culture, you can stroll through the medieval towns. Of course, there are more than enough beaches around Cres.

Hiking through the natural landscapes of the island of Cres is a real dream for anyone who enjoys being in the fresh air. There is hardly another island in Croatia that offers so much variety in its terrain. Between the high viewpoints and the picturesque beaches in the bays, there is a wide choice.

Nature is an important pillar of the infrastructure, as the island is home to wild griffon vultures that have found their home here.

But you shouldn’t underestimate the island’s cultural potential either. There are many small communities, and the approximately 3,000 residents welcome everyone with warm hospitality. Agriculture, be it herding sheep, growing olives or prickly pears, is also part of the island. Many of these farms can also be visited.
