The cozy town of Nin in Dalmatia is an underrated destination. It is located just a few kilometers from the big city of Zadar, but has a lot to offer of its own! Nin is one of the oldest towns in Croatia and therefore has a long history. This can also be seen within the city area. Roman Temple : Nin alone looks like a city that could be located near Rome. And the Roman Temple underlines this even more clearly. Today only the foundations of the once monumental building remain. But a single column still towers into the sky, even 2000 years after it was built.

Nin Salt Museum : Nin is one of the most important locations for traditional salt production. The nearby sea water is used for this, which is processed in fields. You can marvel at all this and much more in the Salt Museum in the east of the city.

Nin Beaches

The beaches of Baška Voda definitely belong in this guide because they are simply gorgeous! They offer fine pebbles, crystal clear water and a relaxing environment that is second to none. Particularly noteworthy here are the surrounding pine forests, which create an idyllic atmosphere. The beaches are simply perfect for sunbathing, swimming and various water sports activities.

Kraljičina Beach : The largest beach in the town of Nin is family-friendly and extremely popular. And at around three kilometers long, it also offers plenty of space. The sand is pleasant underfoot. The beach is also known as the “Queen’s Beach” because a former royal couple of Croatia is said to have fallen in love here.

Ninska Laguna Beach : This inconspicuous sandy beach can be found at the tip of the headland. It is perfect for a quiet stay and offers a shallow entry into the sea. The view of both the Nin Bay and the mountains to the north is phenomenal!

Nin Day trips in the surrounding area

If you have a car, you should definitely explore the area around Nin. There are many great destinations for the whole family that can be visited without much hassle or time.

Krka National Park: Located about an hour’s drive from Nin, Krka National Park offers stunning waterfalls, hiking trails and beautiful natural scenery. The park is known for its waterfalls. It is a great place to explore nature and refresh yourself.

Islands of Vir and Pag : Both islands border directly on the mainland and can be reached via bridges. They offer an incomparable landscape and an insight into Croatian island life.

Zadar : The largest city in central Dalmatia is always inviting you to visit. Explore historical buildings or go shopping – there is something for everyone. But a stroll through the city should definitely be on your list.
